Manchester hotel launches in-room injectables

Guests of the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester can now receive injectables in their hotel room.
The team of healthcare professionals at DermAssure Aesthetics – the hotel’s in-house clinic – will visit guests in their private bedrooms to provide a range of treatments including toxin injections, dermal fillers and peels. In-room IV vitamin therapy can also be provided.
Jessica Craven, operations manager at DermAssure Aesthetics, said: “At our new Manchester home, we want guests and customers alike to feel comfortable visiting our hotel location and hope it may be less daunting that visiting an aesthetic clinic for some…
“With a choice of pampering experiences, therapies to help problem skin and a variety of anti-wrinkle treatments available, there's something for everyone.”
Guests who would prefer to receive aesthetic treatments in their room can do so following a consultation with a clinician and aesthetics care assistant using the clinic’s chosen digital software programme, as usual.
To maintain safety standards as in the DermAssure clinic, all staff attending the patient do so in appropriate PPE, and bring with them a medical-grade dressing trolley with yellow sharps bin, orange waste bag and emergency drugs pack.
The chair or bed (whichever is the most appropriate area) is covered with a sterile drape, and all equipment and the surrounding area is wiped down with an industry-standard bactericide and yeastacide product.
The patient is then prepared in the normal manner, with the guest bathroom used by the clinician to wash and sanitise their hands, again, with healthcare-grade products. The clinician then dons sterile gloves and a gown, before performing the treatment using the Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT) for all critical parts.
Post-treatment, all sharps and other used equipment are disposed of appropriately using with the sharps bin or clinical waste bag. Both the clinician and aesthetics care assistant then perform final safety checks on the patient.
Commenting on the health and safety aspect of providing injectable treatments outside of a traditional clinic setting, Craven added: “This is an area close to our heart. We are deeply committed to giving a clinically safe, robust and super professional service.”
