Q&A with Dr Martyn King, Chair of the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group
My background within the Aesthetics Industry is: I am an Aesthetic Doctor and owner of Cosmedic Skin Clinic which was first established 10 years ago. I perform a whole spectrum of non-surgical aesthetic treatments ranging from botulinum toxin injections and thread lifts to non-surgical face lifts and skin surgery. As well as being the Director of Cosmedic Skin Clinic, I am also the Medical Director for Cosmedic Pharmacy, Chairperson of the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group, Clinical Director for Dr Leah Clinics, Member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine, Board member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists, Medical Director of the 3D-lipolite programme and Director of Salon Direct.
I was inspired to get into the Aesthetics Industry because: Aesthetic Medicine is one of the most rapidly growing and exciting areas of medicine with new procedures, technology and techniques being developed all the time. Although my medical background is in General Practice, I find it equally rewarding in my cosmetic practice with diagnosis, treatment, meeting expectations and improving patient health and wellbeing.
What I’ll be doing at AM Live: As Chairperson of the Aesthetic Complications Expert group, I will be leading a question and answer debate and some case studies with a panel of experts for some common and less common complications experienced in aesthetic practice.
My topic is: Managing aesthetic complications.
The key objectives that delegates will walk away with: Almost anyone can do an aesthetic treatment, the actual skill is being able to diagnose and put right any complication that may arise as a result of that treatment – including safe practice, safe techniques and having the right equipment and drugs to deal with problems.
Dr Martyn King will be speaking on "Managing Complications" at 12.50pm on Saturday April 25.
