Q&A with Dr Patrick Treacy, Ailesbury Clinics
My background within the Aesthetics Industry is: I am Chairman of the Irish Association of Cosmetic Doctors and Irish Regional Representative of the British Association of Cosmetic Medicine. I am Chairman of the World Medical Trichologist Association and on a Humanitarian level, Honorary Ambassador to both the Michael Jackson Legacy Foundation and the Haiti Leadership Foundation. I also sit on many international editorial boards, including PRIME International Journal, Journal on Aesthetic Practices & Cosmetic Dermatology, RoJCED The European Journal of Aesthetic Medicine and Dermatology (EJAMeD) The Aesthetician Journal (India) and Aesthetic Medicine Magazine (UK). I represent the aesthetics industry in both the international and national media having featured on CNN, Dr. Drew, Sky News, BBC, Newsweek as well as RTE, TV3, The Today Show and Ireland AM.
I was inspired to get into the Aesthetics Industry because: Actually, this aesthetic industry did not exist until about 1997 and I would be considered internationally as one of its founding members. This is reflected in the fact that I am Scientific Committee or Faculty at IMCAS Paris/China/India 2015, AMWC Monaco/Moscow/Colombia/Paris 2015, VCS Vegas 2015 and RSM ICG London 2015 and 3rd Gender Singapore 2015. We benefited in the early days from having Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers and IPL all hit the market about the same time and by Europe not having the same impositions as the FDA in the United States. In those heady days, myself and other doctors pioneered facial implant techniques for HIV facial lipodystrophy that lay the groundwork for later mid cheek augmentation and radio-surgery skin tightening that contributed to learly radiofrequency devices. I suppose, I was always pushing aesthetic scientific boundaries, having won the MyFaceMyBody best innovative technique for facial aesthetics (2012) and then for hair transplant (2013) and the AMEC Paris for 'Best Medical Case Facial Rejuventation 2014'.
What I’ll be doing at AM Live: I'mlecturing on dermal filler complications and management and sitting in on an expert panel debate on the best devices for non surgical body contouring. This will be a more like an informal discussion where different clinics are given five minutes or more to pitch their favourite devices and experiences. My lecture on dermal filler complications is already an integral part of the SAFE® Concept for Scientific Aesthetic Experts at AMWC Monaco, AMEC East Europe, AMWC Latin America and FACE London.
My lecture topics are:
- 'Major Dermal Filler complications and management'
- Is it time to say goodbye to non-reversible dermal fillers'
The key objectives that delegates will walk away with: Correct preparation and what to do if you are unfortunate enough to encounter an aesthetic dermal filler emergency.
Patrick will be speaking on Saturday 25 April 2015 at our Conference - secure your seat, here
