Summary:

Complication management is one of the most important but often overlooked skill sets an aesthetic practitioner can have. In this final session of the day, Dr Martyn King, chair of the Aesthetics Complications Expert Group, will lead this discussion on managing complications. The panel of speakers will discuss a diverse range of complications and how to manage them.

Dr Martyn King

Dr Martyn King is the director of Cosmedic Skin Clinic. He is the chair of the Aesthetics Complications Expert Group, a member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine and a board member for the British Association of Sclerotherapists.

Dr Lee Walker

Dr Lee Walker is director and clinical lead at the Lee Walker Facial Aesthetics Academy, Liverpool and has over 18 years’ experience in the field of medical aesthetics. He is a member of the expert panel for the Aesthetic Complications group (ACE) to provide guidance and advice on complications related to non-surgical treatments. He also sits on the expert advisory board of ‘Save Face’. Dr Lee Walker is a Teoxane country expert and international key opinion leader who regularly shares his knowledge via masterclasses across the UK , Asia and Europe. He sits on the United Kingdom Teoxane steering committee to advise on medical education best practices. He also is a faculty lecturer in clinical education for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.

Dr Raul Cetto

Dr Raul Cetto trained in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Imperial College Healthcare where he completed a PhD in the field. He subsequently specialised in non-surgical facial medical aesthetics and practises at Clinic 1.6 located in Marylebone, London. He is medical director of aesthetic training provider Harley Academy and is also a medical board member and international speaker for Swiss aesthetic manufacturer Teoxane.

Dr Steven Harris

Dr Steven Harris has been practising aesthetic medicine at his clinic in North London since 2004 and has gained an international reputation for producing natural looking results. His original approach and techniques include Facial Reshaping with Myomodulation and the Nonsurgical Lip Lift (NLL). Dr Harris is also a trainer and educator. Cheryl Barton

Cheryl Barton is an experienced aesthetic nurse and director of the Aesthetika Clinic in Sheffield. She is consultant editor of the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing and is a full member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN). She is also a founding member of the Private and Independent Aesthetic Practitioners Association (PIAPA) Specialist Visiting Lecturer teaching Aesthetics and Ethics at Sheffield Hallam University (now retired) and Expert Witness to the Courts.

Mr Arturo Almeida

Mr Arturo Almeida is an internationally renowned keynote speaker, medical trainer and expert in minimally invasive and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. A consultant surgeon, he has being practicing cosmetic medicine for more than 13 years. His main areas of expertise are fat-dissolving treatments and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. He is a Medical Ambassador of International Plastic Aesthetic Residence (IPAR) and a key opinion leader (KOL) within the Aesthetic Medicine industry. Mr Almeida relocated to the UK in 2017 from Madrid, where he owned and run several clinics. He is now based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, practicing at the VSL Clinic in Wakefield and Blemish Clinic in Manchester.
