Coolsculpting celebrates 10 year anniversary
CoolSculpting®, a treatment for reducing stubborn fat3,4,5[i] is celebrating 10 years2 since receiving market approval in 30 countries.[ii]
The device, which helps reduce stubborn fat3,4,5[iii] that can be difficult to shift, even with diet and exercise, is now available in 74 countries6 and 5,000 clinics worldwide.7
CoolSculpting® targets commonly-sited areas of concern[iv], such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs and double chin, removing treated fat cells for good5[v]. Over 7 million treatments6 have been completed worldwide*.
According to data from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, 86% (N=3,525) of consumers are bothered by excess body fat, listing this as the number one aesthetic concern8[vi].
Separate research, funded by Allergan, indicates particular concerns with fat found on the abdominal area and flanks – commonly known as love handles.9Furthermore, 3 in 4 men and women have said they are interested in losing fat using methods as well as diet and exercise.9
CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical way to reduce stubborn fat,3,4,5[vii] directly addressing the needs of consumers who are looking for an alternative to manage undesirable fat.
CoolSculpting® uses targeted, controlled cooling technology, known as cryolipolysis11[viii]. Backed with 20 years of research and development, and evidenced in 60 peer-reviewed publications,12 this non-invasive procedure is an innovative way to contour the body by freezing unwanted fat. The treatment involves no surgery,3 no needles, and minimal expected downtime13,14. Bespoke treatment plans are developed, tailored to the needs of the consumer to help them achieve their personal body goals.
Nancy Ghattas, Associate Vice President UK and Ireland Country Manager at Allergan said, "“CoolScultping is considered the world's number one body contouring treatment*; we’re delighted to be celebrating this iconic milestone. The treatment has revolutionised the aesthetics industry and how clinicians approach body contouring; the innovative technology delivers highly effective results for both consumers and physicians. It is a true pioneering and market leading brand, with over seven million treatments performed globally.”
