ZENii LONDON launches vegan collagen, Beauty Glow
Beauty Glow is a clinically proven, science-based alternative to animal collagen and is available in both liquid and powder form. Formulated by skincare doctor Dr Johanna Ward to use high-quality clinical-grade ingredients, it replicates the 18 amino acids of the most important collagen type - human 1. This means it is easily absorbed by the body and is fast working. With global searches for the efficacy of vegan collagen up 50% in the last 12 months, Beauty Glow means that a growing number of consumers who want to care for our planet while also improving their health, well-being and beauty now have a scientifically backed vegan substitute.
ZENii London is adding Beauty Glow to its line of premium collagen supplements – SkinFusion and ProCollagen+. Collagen is the most abundant protein in humans (25% - 35%) and makes up most of the protein in human skin. It is also found in the bones, muscles, blood vessels, cartilage, and tendons. However, at the age of 25, collagen production slows and by 50, collagen levels are typically around 50% less compared to previous levels. Healthy collagen levels contribute to joint health, protection of the kidneys and other organs, a healthy cardiovascular system and skin elasticity. During the first five years of menopause, a further 30% is lost. Collagen decline results in wrinkles, thinning bones, weak joints, thinning hair, brittle nails, and leaky gut and can negatively impact almost every aspect of human health.
How vegan collagen works
Collagen in its native form can’t be absorbed by the body and so marine collagen is a popular collagen supplement because it is hydrolysed to free the amino acids and is easily absorbed.
There are 28 types of collagens in the human body that are all different but with the same building blocks. Our bodies take the building blocks and use them how they are needed. Beauty Glow is composed of the same 18 amino acids as human collagen, which means it has the same amino acid profile as human hair, skin and nails. It is produced using a new fermentation process to obtain the exact combination and ratio of amino acids needed by the human body. It then undergoes a microencapsulation process, creating a highly absorbable, water-dispersible powder and liquid that the body uses before digestion.
Beauty Glow delivers a highly absorbable complex of these amino acids for the body to utilise and to stimulate the body’s creation of further collagen in the fibroblasts without animal-origin or hydrolysis.
The product delivers the daily collagen dose required to reduce the rate at which our collagen breaks down, and improve the skin’s innate collagen production, skin hydration and healing. It also contains a powerful blend of clinical-grade ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, MSM, vitamin B7(Biotin), vitamin D3 and silica, supporting skin health from the inside out.
Beauty Glow is backed by independent consumer testing, which revealed that, for 55 women aged 30-60 who took 1000mg of Beauty Glow collagen in 2 x daily powder capsules over 60 days, the women reported firmer, more hydrated skin, fine line and wrinkles reduced and more even skin tone. The appearance of dark circles was reduced, eyes looked less tired and breakouts and blemishes were reduced. Nails also felt stronger and looked healthier.
“I am hugely proud to be launching ZENii London’s Beauty Glow vegan collagen on World Vegan Day on November 1 as one of the first vegan collagen supplements on the market,” said ZENii London founder Dr Johanna Ward.
”We have seen people’s skin and health transformed through our marine collagen supplement Skin Fusion so Beauty Glow will enable even more people to access the benefits of collagen for the first time and experience the impressive results of our 100% plant-based supplement. I’ve been working with an amazing team of scientists to develop Beauty Glow it’s also packed with clinical-grade, high-strength ingredients, vitamins and nutrients and antioxidants and is the ultimate in skin health support. I am excited to see the big impact it will have on our customer’s skin, nails, hair and also general health and wellbeing.”
Dr Gemma Newman, general practitioner and The Plant Power Doctor added: “I am thrilled that, thanks to new ground-breaking science, Dr Johanna Ward has created Beauty Glow – true vegan collagen that is 100% plant-based. Collagen is an important protein that is integral to healthy skin and hair and is also an important component of tendons, bones and muscles. To have access to a clinically proven vegan formula is a huge moment for the vegan and vegetarian community, as well as those who want to eat more plants as part of their daily routine. The trial results are impressive and I’m excited to see the benefits for myself and others.”
Beauty Glow is available from 1st November in a 500ml berry flavour liquid format £65 (5mg daily dose) or 90g powder (2.5g daily dose) for £50 from ZENii's website.
