Speaker spotlight: Cheryl Barton
Aesthetic Medicine North is takin place next weekend and joining our speaker faculty once again is aesthetic nurse practitioner Cheryl Barton.
Cheryl will be assisting Mr Ash Labib in the 12pm-1pm session on Facial Contouring of the Nose and Chin on the main clinical agenda on Saturday, June 29.
She will also be speaking as part of the 2pm-3pm Lips Masterclass giving a presentation on the current trend for lip injections and over enhanced lips and what practitioners can do to safeguard themselves and their patients form bad results/outcomes. Other speakers in this session will include Dr Steve Harris and Dr Arturo Almeida.
Cheryl, who is a campaigner for standards of safety within the sector will also sit on the Managing Complications Panel from 4pm-5pm.
Finally, on Sunday 30 she will take part in the panel on Topical Products: What Works? at 12pm-1pm.This session will be chaired by Rachael Goddard and will be a discussion around ingredients. Other panel members will include Constance Campion and Anna Baker.
Topics being discussed will range from what the panellists have found to be effective in their practice; what people should be vigilant about/wary of when choosing products/ingredients to work with; what complications could arise with topical products and how to manage these and what doesn’t work or work as well as it claims it does?
Cheryl Barton is an experienced aesthetic nurse and director of the Aesthetika Clinic in Sheffield. She is consultant editor of the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing and is a full member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN). She is also a founding member of the Private and Independent Aesthetic Practitioners Association (PIAPA) Specialist Visiting Lecturer teaching Aesthetics and Ethics at Sheffield Hallam University (now retired) and Expert Witness to the Courts.
