Sponsored Feature: Plasma for Aesthetic Medicine applications

When Plexr was introduced in the UK four years ago, plasma and its use in Aesthetic Medicine wasn’t common and there was little understanding about its efficiancy. Plasma is the fourth state of matter (together with solid, gas and liquid) and it has common use in our daily lives (neon signs, plasma TV screens, etc.).

In Aesthetic Medicine we take advantage of plasma to remove excess skin by sublimation (transition of a solid to gas, without going through the liquid phase), without causing any fibrosis or necrosis.

Plexr, the first plasma generator in the world for this purpose, generates plasma by ionising the atmospheric gas atoms between the needle’s tip and the patient's skin. Plexr does not use any current to generate plasma, which means there is no contraindications and it’s completely safe to treat sensitive areas, like inside the eyes and eyelids.

Matter of fact, Plexr popularity in the UK grew due to its effectiveness in Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty (Highly Commended as Best Anti-Ageing Treatment and the most effective treatment for youthful eyes, according to the Daily Mail). Before Plexr, patients should undergo surgery to remove excess and loose skin from the eyelids, but many patients were reluctant to undergo treatment due to risk of possible complications, fear of surgery and cost.
