Dr Jinah Yoo to lead webinar on photoprotection
Consultant dermatologist Dr Jinah Yoo will lead a webinar on Photoprotection on July 27 as part of Anna Baker's new training – Skin: An Evidence-Based Approach.
The damaging effects of sunlight have gained increasing awareness demonstrated by the global sun care marketing, expect to reach $24.4 billion worldwide by 2029.
Sunscreen has been gradually evolving and new photoprotective ingredients are continuing to be produced in response to growing scientific evidence on the effect of solar radiation on the skin.
During the hour-long webinar from 10am-11am on July 27, Dr Yoo will discuss the history of sunscreen and the importance of UV A and UVB protection.
Over the last decade, the importance of visible light (blue light for hyperpigmentation) has been studied and many sunscreens now have filters to protect against visible light too. As such, Dr Yoo will discussthe evidence for visible light protection.
In addition, topical sunscreen and oral photoprotection will be covered as well as the current regulations in the EU and USA on sunscreen and how they differ.
