Aesthetic Medicine came to the SEC Glasgow on Saturday 8 June for the first Aesthetic Medicine Glasgow, where 472 people were in attendance at the inaugural Scottish aesthetics show.
The show featured a range of industry leading aesthetics brands, three different education programmes and a whole host of networking opportunities, with the aim to bring the best in aesthetics to Scotland.
At the show there was three different free education programmes, offering a variety of insights into how you could elevate your aesthetics business and clinic offering. The Clinical Masterclasses, the Business Seminars and the Live Demo Stage.
At the medic only, Clinical Masterclasses visitors could hear from speakers including Claudia McGloin who discussed PRP and threads in the Regenerative Medicine Masterclass and Ensuring Safe Practices: The risk of patients with HIV transmitting infections during PRP procedures in the Complications, training and regulation Masterclass.
When asked about her time at the show Claudia responded, "I thoroughly enjoyed my two sessions. It was a full house - standing room only - for the complications training and regulation session. I think that was probably the best session. We could’ve talked all day on all things complications I am just so delighted to have been a part of the inaugural, Scottish event and I saw that a lot of the delegates were so excited to have AM in Scotland as I was three years ago when it came to Dublin."
Dr Lauren Jamieson was the chair for the Complications, training and regulation Masterclass and also discussed her approach to combination treatments in the Combination treatments Masterclass. Dr Jamieson said "This morning at Aesthetic Medicine Glasgow, I've had the privilege of chairing a phenomenal session on complications, training and regulation, all really exciting and very important areas in Aesthetic Medicine. It was an incredible energy in the room, the sessions are so well attended, and the delegates are really so engaged in everything that's going on in Aesthetics.
This event has already proven to be a huge success, and it's a delight to see something of this calibre in Scotland. I've already been having an awesome time as, as a clinician, and I think my key takeaway is regulation in Scotland is an absolute key factor to how we're going to be practicing moving forward.
From our Business Seminars, we spoke to Vanessa Bird who spoke on becoming a KOL and A step by step business opportunity audit to grow your business. Vanessa said "I was really excited to come and speak at the first Aesthetic Medicine Glasgow. I remember years ago covering this area when I was a rep and everybody is so down-to-earth, so experienced and really passionate about aesthetics. I just knew that if they were coming to this kind of event in Scotland then it would be phenomenal and it has been. I think this is going to be a super popular show, I really think it will rival London. It’s a great addition to the Aesthetic Medicine Live portfolio."
