BACN Annual Conference takes place in Birmingham this weekend

Advanced Approaches in Cosmetic Medicine Today is the topic of the annual British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) meeting which takes place in Birmingham this weekend.

The one-day event will see nurses from across the UK come together at the ICC on Saturday October 3.

The event will open with an Update on the latest BACN activities, strategic plan and key actions for the next year from Paul Burgess (BACN CEO) and Sharon Bennett (BACN chair). This will be followed by an  update on the findings of the NMC Revalidation Pilot and implications for BACN nursing members by Sharron Brown and Lou Sommereux, the representative for the NMC Revalidation Group.

The morning session will then continue with treatment presentations and demonstrations kicking off with “Unlocking the code for successful lips” with Rachael Brown. Session 2 will be on “Innovative modality of treatment for tear troughs with skin boosters” with oculo-plastic surgeon Dr Sabrina Shah-Desai.

Following the morning coffee break there will be a series of workshop presentations running simultaneously including the “Ten Point Plan – Checking process to ensure compliance with regard to any legal claim from a patient” with Julie Charlton – Bevan Britten; Acne with Karen Urquhart and the treatment of pigmentation with Dr Anamica Prasad. The final workshops before lunch will be “21st Century Alchemy – Today’s State-of-the-Art Paradigm for Creating Optimal Beauty, Health, Prevention and Age-Reversal, Internally and Externaly” with Dr Julia Hunter; Consent, working within the law, with Liz Bardolph and Advanced Toxins and the Lower Face.

The afternoon session will see Dr John Quinn  speaking about” The Importance of Product Rheology and Depth of Placement When Considering Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers” and Dr Sherif Wail talking on thread-lifts. The final talk will see Dr Martyn King cover “Prevention and Management Protocols for Complications in an Aesthetic Practice.”

An evening social an networking event will be held at All Bar One with a buffet dinner and entertainment. Tickets are £25.
