British Association of Sclerotherapists announces 2016 conference dates
The British Association of Sclerotherapists will be hosting its biennial conference on Thursday April 28, 2016 at The Ark in Basingstoke. The meeting is open to BAS members and non-members and promises to be lively and informative meeting with world class speakers sharing practical information for practitioners wishing to broaden knowledge and skills in sclerotherapy.
The programme will include demonstrations of microsclerotherapy and foam treatments, with ample opportunity to ask questions and learn from highly experienced leaders in the field.
Founded in 2002, the British Association of Sclerotherapists is a non-profit professional association dedicated to promoting safe and ethical sclerotherapy treatments, for the benefit of practitioners and the general public.
50% of the population suffers from unsightly thread veins, and there is no treatment available on the NHS. Microsclerotherapy is the ideal treatment for these, and foam sclerotherapy as an alternative to varicose vein surgery is growing in popularity in the UK.
BAS members abide by a code of conduct and have access to continuing professional development through conferences and workshops, newsletters and an informative website (www.bassclerotherapy.com). Many patients too visit the BAS website, to refer to patient information or to find local sclerotherapists.
Members enjoy:
- A listing and profile in the ‘Find a Practitioner’ section of the BAS website, and a BAS logo on your website or promotional literature reassures patients
- Member discounts at conferences and regional CPD workshops
- Access to CPD and member-only articles on the BAS website
- Discounted insurance through Hamilton Fraser
- A free pair of Sigvaris® medical compression hosiery
- Advice if needed from a body of experts whose role is to establish consensus on best practice, and inform and educate members
Other CPD meetings are planned for Edinburgh, Tamworth and Bristol during 2016. See the BAS website for further details, or email enq@bassclerotherapy.com
