Consulting Room annual charity bike in memory of Sharon Cass

Consulting Room bike ride The Consulting Room will be riding its annual Charity Cycle for Brain Tumour Research in memory of Skinbrands' Sharon Cass who passed away in May from a brain tumour.

This is the 6th year in a row the team has taken on a Cycle Challenge. Having conquered 160 miles across England (from Whitehaven to Tynemouth), 190 miles across Ireland (from Galway to Dublin) and 200 miles down the length of Wales (from Bangor to St. David's Head), 180 miles across Scotland (from Fort William to Fraserburgh) and 200 miles across Northern Ireland (from Londonderry to Warrenbury), they have now exhausted the UK!

So, there is only one thing for it... it's time to stretch their legs a little further and head to the Continent! They're off across the Channel Tunnel to Europe and cycling from Calais in France to Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

The Consulting Room Group Cycling Team will consist of the usual crew of Ron Myers, Martyn Roe, Dan Huxley, Danielle Lowe and Paul Simmonds; and this year they will be joined by other members of the company: Zoe Myers, Jane Mitchell and Robert Ball. As well as the cyclists, they will be joined by their amazing support crew of Paul Stapleton and Jo Martin, without whom the ride would not be possible.

The route takes them out of Calais, up to Dunkirk, where they pick up the coast road up into Belguim. At Ostend they will take a little detour from the coast, dropping into Bruges, then back out to the coast and the Dutch border. After hopping over a few islands, and 124 miles, they will find themselves at their first overnight stop at Renesse. Day two sees them leave the islands behind and head towards Rotterdam and The Hague, following the coast road North, all the way to Haarlem, and then East directly into Amsterdam.

As always, the team are riding in aid of charity, and this year they will be doing so in memory of Sharon Cass, Education & Brand Manager at SkinBrands Ltd, who sadly passed away in May, following a battle with brain cancer. Sharon, who teamed up with Consulting Room staff at our SMART Ideas event, was a wonderfully bubbly and friendly person. The aesthetic industry very much feels her loss, and we wanted to do something in her name, and to support her colleagues, partner and family.

All money raised from the cycle challenge will therefore be going to Brain Tumour Research.

This charity are striving to fund a network of 7 dedicated research centres whilst challenging the Government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research. They are the only national charity in the UK that is purely dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours. Sharon Cass, who was 46, died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 11th, after a short but brave fight. Cass had a long career in the aesthetics and beauty industries spanning more than 25 years.

The ride will take place from September 16-17.
