Fake medicines and medical devices worth £2 million, including dermal fillers, have been seized by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) as part of a global operation to target counterfeiting.
The haul, which included unlicensed dermal fillers, the anxiety drug diazepam and modafinil, which is prescribed for sleep disorders, confiscated the bogus medicines and medical devices at a semi-detached properly and lock up last month as part of Operation Pangea, a global initiative involving 116 countries, which also targeted airports and mail delivery centres.
The operation has led to 859 arrest and seizure of items worth about £10.9 million.
