Industry Qualifications (IQ) has announced that the entry criteria for the Ofqual regulated Level 7 Certificate in Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine has been updated to recognise dental hygienists, dental therapists and paramedics.
President of the British Association of Cosmetic Dental Professionals (BACDP), Jane Reynolds, said, “The aim of the BACDP is to safeguard patient safety in the aesthetic medicine sector and is pleased to be accepted by IQ and to be part of the role in standardising of training across the new and growing sector of aesthetic medicine. This has been a long time coming. Dental hygienists and dental therapists have been carrying out injectables in aesthetic medicine since 2009 under the guidance of the General Dental Council.”
