Doctor dies after fall from balcony

A GP who ran the Face Clinic London has died after falling from the balcony of his £700,000 penthouse flat in West Hampstead.

Dr Nazim Mahmood, 34, who had clinics in Soho and Harley Street, was pronounced dead at the scene in spite of a passing woman doctor’s attempts to resuscitate him. Witnesses described how Dr Mahmood had been alone on the balcony of his apartment, which is enclosed by a five-foot high glass barrier, for only a few moments before he fell, naked.

Dr Mahmood founded the Face Clinic London in 2009 with a colleague, Dr Anita Kapoor, and was due to open another new clinic last month. He recently announced on his website: “We are proud to announce that Face Clinic London are now offering a third location in West Hampstead, North West London.”

Dr Kapoor declined to comment about her colleague’s death, saying: “In order to be respectful I would like to be left alone at this time.”

Dr Mahmood lived with his partner Matthew Ogston who was reportedly “devastated” when he was told the news. The police are not treating the death as suspicious. An inquest will be held at a later date.
