Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou to write regular anatomy column for Aesthetic Medicine magazine
Starting from the November issue, cosmetic surgeon and Aesthetic Medicine editorial board member Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou will be writing a regular column covering anatomical considerations for aesthetic treatments.
Dr Foutsizoglou has completed his core surgical training with the KSS and London Deaneries. He then moved on to become a plastic and reconstructive surgery trainee in the NHS. During that period Dr Sotirios Foutsizoglou developed a particular interest in anatomy and he became heavily involved in teaching Anatomy and Physiology to medical students and junior doctors.
He has worked as an anatomy demonstrator for Imperial College and since 2012, in his role as the lead trainer of KT Medical Aesthetics Group, he has been training doctors, dentists and senior nurses in facial anatomy and advanced non-surgical treatments.
He has written and lectured on facial anatomy and complications associated with injectables both nationally and internationally. He feels passionate about the importance of clinically oriented anatomy and believes that a great number of adverse events encountered in the field of aesthetic medicine could be avoided should the aesthetic practitioner have sound anatomical knowledge of the area to be treated.
