Galderma bolsters Aesthetics Academy Faculty with new experts

Galderma announced today that they have expanded the Galderma Aesthetics Academy Faculty with high profile key opinion leaders joining the expert team. On top of delivering Galderma’s unique peer-to-peer Train the Trainer course, the Faculty will also be refining a series of masterclasses with a focus on treatment selection for both the full face and individual features such as the lips.
The Galderma Faculty now includes Patrick Treacy, President of the Royal Society of Medicine Aesthetics Faculty; Andie McLean, a Registered Nurse who has worked in the medical cosmetic industry since 1995 as an advisor, injector and trainer to doctors, dentists and nurses; Ryan Hamdy, Aesthetic Practitioner and Founder of the Cheshire International School of Cosmetology (CISC); Heather Muir, an Aesthetic Practitioner with over thirteen years’ experience in facial aesthetic treatments; Donna Mills, an industry-renowned Clinician; and Max Malik, Cosmetic Doctor and Hair Restoration Surgeon.
“I am delighted to have joined Galderma’s UK Training Faculty and to be involved in the Train the Trainer Programme,” said Heather Muir, Aesthetic Practitioner and Galderma UK Trainer. “Peer-to-peer learning is such an important way to enable trainers to share their knowledge and experience to help upskill others.”
“I am very happy to join the Galderma Faculty,” said Dr Patrick Treacy, President of the Royal Society of Medicine Aesthetics Faculty. “I have been working very closely with the Galderma team to improve the prevention, recognition and treatment of adverse events and will ensure that these learnings are incorporated into Galderma’s impressive educational programme.”
Galderma’s extensive educational platform encompasses a wide range of courses including Anatomy Masterclasses which provide further education on the anatomy of the face via a combination of formal lectures, live tissue dissection lectures and live demonstrations using Galderma’s “The Patient’s Needs Based Approach.” The series of Restylane showcase training events serves to educate on the science behind the Restylane range of products and how best to maximise the NASHA and OBT technologies. The Galderma Faculty will also have a strong involvement and partnership with all the key injecting groups in the industry, including the British Association of Aesthetic Nurses (BACN), the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM), the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) etc. and involvement in their annual meetings and events.
“Building a strong Faculty is an integral part of our marketing strategy,” said Toby Cooper, Medical Solutions Business Unit Head, Galderma UK. “More than half of our marketing budget is dedicated to enhancing and expanding our educational offering, and we prioritise investment in local UK trainers, developing local mentors and empowering them to work with their local Product Specialists.”
