Karen Betts wins NatWest Everywoman Award

Karen Betts, director of Karen Betts Professional and Nouveau Beauty Group has been awarded the coveted NatWest Everywoman Award.

The award, now in its 12th year, honours British entrepreneurial success. A beautician by training, Karen Betts was inspired to specialise in the world of permanent make-up, when she saw the impact of breast cancer treatment on a friend. She is now widely regarded as one of the best known permanent cosmetics artists in the UK. Through Nouveau Beauty Group she has also become one of the UK’s leading providers of beauty-industry education and has launched a number of successful brands including Nouveau Lashes.

Karen was presented with the Guild of Excellence Award 2014 for ‘best eyelash supplier’ and her product is now available in 28 countries. She is also the brains behind the HD Brows, which is available in 5,000 salons across the UK. Karen’s team now numbers 182 with a turnover of £7 million and 121% financial growth year on year. She works alongside NHS and private medical staff to offer treatments to cancer, burns and alopecia patients and consults on many professional and charitable bodies including The Haven Leeds, Breast Friends Birmingham, Alopecia UK and The Katie Piper Foundation.
