Norman Wright joins BSI Committee for Aesthetic Surgery and Non-Surgical Medical Services
The founder of The Wright Initiative, Norman Wright, has been accepted as a member for the BSI CH/403 committee on Aesthetic Surgery and Non-Surgical Medical Services.
Wright, who developed the Pre and Post Procedure Support (PaPPS) Accreditation for practices and practitioners offering cosmetic surgery, dentistry and non-surgical aesthetic procedures, was nominated by his professional body, The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
He said, “I am most looking forward to being part of the standard development committee paying particular attention to the patient as there is currently no psycho-emotional support for patients having aesthetic or cosmetic procedures. I am also excited about being able to support the work programme through BSI and CEN ensuring that the notion of the person behind the patient is acknowledged, seen, listened to and supported every step of the way. Whether they recognise it or not, patients are vulnerable and unaware of the impacts surgery and aesthetic treatments, with their ongoing replenishment, will have on their emotional, relational and psychological (ERP) well-being pre and post procedure.”
