OFAA launches peri-orbital and peri-oral anatomy courses

OFAA anatomy course The Oculo-Facial Aesthetic Academy (OFAA) is launching a new course on restoration and rejuvenation of the peri-orbital and peri-oral areas using non-surgical injectable treatments. The course will be held on December 9 at Guy’s Campus, King’s College London.

Entitled Anatomical basis of Restoration and Rejuvenation of the Peri-orbital and Peri-oral Area using Non-surgical Injectable Treatments, this “hands on” wet-lab is a scientific evidence based look at assessing and restoring complex peri-oral and peri-orbital areas. The course is run by industry recognised clinical and anatomical trainers, who are highly experienced in treating these areas with the aim of promoting safe aesthetic practice amongst medical professionals

Delegates will get a comprehensive understanding of facial anatomical layers using fresh cadavers and prosections. They will practice anatomical surface marking on fresh frozen cadavers, with an emphasis on avoiding critical neurovascular anatomy in peri-oral and peri-orbital areas.

The “wet-lab” will cover basic, intermediate and advanced safe reproducible filler injection techniques for the most challenging facial areas, addressing how to improve the deep volume loss with appropriate fillers and reveal how to address the skin canvas. They will also learn how to avoid complications from poor technique and inappropriate patient selection.

This one-day simulation “wet-lab” will provide small group, hands on practical training, so that delegates will be confident in peri-oral & periorbital anatomy, understand the concepts of surgical and dermatological assessment applied to non-surgical treatments to improve assessment and deliver safe outcomes.

Cadaver based skills learning courses are recognised as one of the best ways to impart training before moving to a live patient.
