Out and about: Black Skin Direxctory event, Adonia Medical Clinic, London

In response to a request for more information about cosmeceutical skincare and professional advanced treatments, Black Skin Directory hosted an immersive learning event to showcase cosmeceutical options and professional treatments suited for skin of colour. The aim was to answer questions, quell misconceptions and provide guests with the knowledge to make more informed skincare choices.
After mingling over drinks and nibbles, guests were escorted to the Adonia Medical Training Room for the Q&A session led by Dr Ejikeme, (Aesthetic Doctor and Adonia Clinic Director) and moderated by Dija Ayodele. Following that, Dr Ejikeme demonstrated the Obagi Blue Peel on a Fitzpatrick V model giving guests the opportunity to come up close, see it in action and ask questions directed at Dr Ejikeme and the model. After this, guests were free to talk to the Adonia Medical Clinic and BSD team about suitable treatments and make bookings if they wished.Dija Ayodele, Founder of Black Skin Directoryconcluded“The aim of the event was threefold - to provide a forum in which interested women of colour can learn more about cosmeceutical options, elevate their skincare knowledge and understand professional in clinic treatments. We’re grateful to Dr Ejikeme in opening up her clinic and sharing her in-depth knowledge to the BSD audience. The evening was insightful and it was great for our guests to witness a live chemical peel demonstration which we find a lot of black women express anxiety about. Overall, it was a successful evening for BSD and Adonia Medical with increased bookings and social media traffic.”
