Out and about: Cosmecoin VIP launch, London
The Eight Members Club in London was the setting for the VIP launch of a new loyalty scheme using cryptocurrency – Cosmecoin.
Cosmecoin is the brainchild of iConsult founder Richard Crawford-Small and works in conjunction with the client management system. It rewards both patients and practitioners with a virtual currency, much like a supermarket club card, and encourages interaction and reviews. One of the key things about the Cosmecoin portal is that it uses blockchain technology to connect consumers and practitioners safely. The “un-hackable” database is designed for transactions and to store data and keep it safe. It also controls permission on who can access the data and hides and encrypts it.
The evening involved panel discussions with Crawford-Small along with Cosmecoin’s chief technology officer, Chris Barber, and digital marketing advisor, Rick O’Neill, as well as Dr Ravi Jain and nurse prescriber Nikki Zanna, early adopters of the concept.
Crawford-Small said, “We are incredibly proud be launching Cosmecoin and introducing the aesthetic market to new technologies and initiatives. We are the first in the world to create a tokenised reward programme, specifically designed to support best practice. The response from the industry has been hugely positive and we have got a lot of support as this kind of initiative has been badly needed. It’s time to start highlighting the positives and showcasing the great work, rather than purely focusing on the negative aspects”.
