Q&A with Dr Souphiyeh Samizadeh, Dental Surgeon & Honorary Clinical Teacher at King's College

My background within the Aesthetics Industry is: I am a dental surgeon with special interest in aesthetic medicine. I am very passionate about patient safety, regulations and increasing standards in aesthetic medicine. I am working with higher education bodies to implement Health Education England’s framework as I believe that training safe, ethical and evidence based practitioners will raise the standards and enhance the safety profile of aesthetic treatments. My current research is on lower face contouring with Botulinum Toxin A.

I was inspired to get into the Aesthetics Industry because: Early on during my career, I realised how aesthetic procedures can have a high impact on an individual’s confidence and state of mind. This was later enhanced by a personal experience. Upon reading on this topic, I discovered that this is a very common reaction. I was further inspired to get into aesthetics when I learnt that much of my knowledge including anatomy applies to aesthetics, and I immensely enjoy the positive feeling I can impart onto my patients who wish to undertake these treatments.

What I’ll be doing at AM Live: I will be presenting on contouring of lower face with botulinum toxin A. Treating lower face is considered advanced use for botulinum toxin and many practitioners do not feel comfortable treating the lower face. By understanding the target muscles, anatomy and complication avoidance strategies, practitioners can enhance their skill set and aesthetic results by treating the lower face.

My topic is: Lower face contouring with Botulinum Toxin A

The key objectives that delegates will walk away with:

  • Understanding how lower face can be treated with botulinum toxin
  • A good understanding of anatomy of lower face and target muscles
  • Complications avoidance
  • Tips, Do’s and Don’ts

Dr Souphiyeh Samizadeh will be speaking at 4.20pm on Saturday, April 25th - Secure your seat, here
