Save Face launches new initiative to raise and record concerns

Woman on laptop Save Face is launching a new initiative to encourage both patients and practitioners to record negative experiences.

Since its launch in 2014, Save Face has been working to raise public and practitioner awareness of risks related to non-surgical treatments.

With thousands of unique visitors to the site each month and more than 550 practitioners registered, the organisation has been able to engage with the public and gather data.

Based on experience and feedback, Save Face has launched a new tool for both patients and practitioners to raise and record concerns related specifically to cosmetic practice.

Director Ashton Collins said, “We recognise that patients don’t always wish their complaint to result in action – they just want to be heard.

“Practitioners share anecdotes and express frustration that whilst they witness poor practice experienced by patients, they have no means to have this experience recorded, without making it ‘official’ and possibly time-consuming.

“With these challenges in mind, we have designed and launched a new survey, which can be completed by either patients or practitioners (using different question sets), with or without escalation. We hope practitioners will report, and also encourage patients to visit the website and complete the form, or simply provide them with a link (saveface.co.uk/concern), which takes them directly to the form, rather than necessitating clicks on the website.”

Save Face publishes data and reports annually. It serves to inform its own standards and policies and is shared with regulators and other appropriate bodies.
