A study published by the American Chemical Society suggests using a modified form of the chemical titanium dioxide could be an effective and safe teeth whitener.
The research was done by scientists at Nanchang University in China, who combined the chemical with polydopamine, a natural glue. They found that, over four hours, the chemical has the same whitening ability as hydrogen peroxide and did not damage the teeth at all.
