Is fasting the cure for ageing? Join Professor Valter Longo at the RSM next week to find out

Professor Valter Longo Professor Valter Longo PhD will be coming to London on May 22, 2017 to present his most recent clinical evidence on the "fasting mimicking diet".

Fasting triggers a number of long-term benefits, including cell regeneration, visceral fat-driven weight loss and the promotion of healthy ageing. However, water-only fasting has proven to be complex, challenging and very difficult to follow. FMDs work by nourishing the body with enough nutrients to thrive, while still convincing cells that it is fully fasting.

Extensive research has shown that following the FMD just two to three times per year boosts the immune system, and can cut the risk of heart disease, cancer, inflammation and other age-related diseases. A recent clinical trial shows how a Fasting Mimicking Diet in mice can trigger pancreatic beta cell regeneration to reverse diabetes.

For more insight into FMDs, listen here to Dr Valter Longo PhD, Professor of Longevity at the University of Southern California’s Longevity Institute, speak about his research around Fasting Mimicking Diets during a TED talk.

Professor Longo will present his most recent clinical evidence on FMDs at our London event on 22nd May 2017. The presentation is free to attend and light refreshments will be served.

ProLon® is a 5-day Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) programme that is clinically proven to promote health and longevity. With ProLon®, you are getting all the great benefits of fasting, while still being able to eat three meals a day.
