Skin Matrix launch Cryo T-Med
Skin Matrix has introduced the Cryo T Med device from Metrum Cryoflex to the UK market. The system is the first nitrogen device in the world with a sensor placed inside the application nozzle for a remote measurement of the patient’s skin temperature during treatment.
Thecryostimulation treatment uses nitrogen vapour to reach the required extreme cold temperatures that cool the skin sufficiently to trigger the body to activate its optimum defence mechanism. The body reacts by increasing the temperature of the blood and driving microcirculations around the treatment area for several hours, bringing a whole host of benefits to the patient.
The treatment is very comfortable because the stream of nitrogen vapour contains almost no moisture and as the treatment is superficial it does not penetrate the skin. Instead, cryostimulation stimulates the body to heat up as a defensive mechanism to counter the extreme temperatures that the thermoreceptors sense on the skin.
Cryostimulation can be used for body shaping/weight loss and body contouring; firming of the skin and cellulite reduction by strengthening collagen and elastin fibres; hair stimulation; tackling skin problems such as acne, eczema and psoriasis and cryofacials and peels to enhance anti-ageing treatments.
The Cryo-T Med can also be used for pain management and has recently been given the Football Medical Association’s seal of approval and will begin to filter through professional sports club rehabilitation and maintenance programmes.
