A Sutton Coldfield nurse and aesthetics clinic owner has passed an accreditation process to add extra reassurance for her clients.
Sinead McCann, who splits her time between working as a nurse and running her clinic Sinead McCann Aesthetics in Mere Green, has been accredited by Save Face.
Save Face is an organisation dedicated to a safe aesthetics industry and its registration process is voluntary. Patients can view the directory of registered practitioners when choosing who to see for treatments. It carries out a 116-point assessment process and its register is government approved.
“I’m really proud I’ve voluntarily put the clinic through this process. I started my aesthetics business around nursing after realising I could contribute to the industry with a safe and natural-results approach.
“I began my training in 2016 and haven’t looked back. Save Face will hopefully add a layer of reassurance on top of me being a registered nurse,” Sinead said.
She qualified as a nurse in 2006, specialising in endoscopy and gastroenterology, achieving advanced nurse status in 2015. For around ten years, Sinead has also been a nurse prescriber.
Despite her clinic seeing booming business, Sinead has no intention of leaving the NHS.
“I truly adore my job and working in the NHS has given me so many transferable skills, including how to deal with any anaphylaxis should it occur, an in-depth knowledge of anatomy, medications, physiology and assessments.
“My nursing career means I’m passionate about the UK’s aesthetic industry becoming regulated and hopefully the government is moving it in that direction. In the meantime, it’s great that Save Face is a symbol of trust, assurance and confidence and I’m proud to be part of it.”
