Team Aesthetic Medicine runs British 10k in aid of the Help Smile Trust

Aesthetic Medicine’s editor, Vicky Eldridge, global head of marketing, Chloe Skilton, sales manager, Charles Mostyn and AM Live consultant Danny Large put on their running shoes to take part in the British 10K in London to help raise money for the Help Smile Trust. The team was inspired to take part in the event after running an article on the charity in Aesthetic Medicine magazine in April. The charity was set up in 2008 by plastic surgeon Shailesh Vadodaria toprovide plastic reconstructive surgery to people in the developing world who would otherwise have no access to it.

Today, under the umbrella of the charity, Mr Vadodaria travels to countries such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Madagascar to perform a wide range of reconstructive procedures. Although during the course of his visits Mr Vadodaria will treat anything from post burn contractures to facial deformities and open wounds following road traffic accidents, he is particularly passionate about helping children with cleft lip and palate.

Mr Vadodaria said, “For the past five years, the British 10K run has been one of the most significant events for Help Smile Trust. It has not only aided in us achieving our annual fundraising target, but it also enables our trustees and well-wishers to come together in an enthusiastic and driven atmosphere to support a good cause.”

This year the event helped raise more than £7,000 towards the charity’s fundraising target of £10,000. It is not too late to show your support. To donate visit www.justgiving/help-smile
