The average Brit has 783 images saved on their phone but hates 75% of them
Brits have an average of 783 pictures saved on their Smartphone but only like 25% of them, according to new research by Huawei.
In fact, more than one in 10 women have secretly gone into a friend or partner’s phone to delete a picture of themselves which they did not like.
81% of women and 68% of men also confessed they will immediately delete a picture if they feel they do not look their best in it.However, when the shoe is on the other foot, it appears the nation’s women aren’t so generous, with 14% saying they have kept a photo on their phone that they look great in, despite a friend having asked for it be deleted, according to the poll.
16% of women and 10% of men have also actively posted a picture online in which a friend looked terrible, because they looked good in it themselves, while a further 49% of both women and men admited they had deleted a great picture of their friends and family, simply because they didn’t look good in it themselves.
The single biggest reason for disliking a photo, according to the poll, is not looking good in it (46%), followed by bad lighting (40%) and blurry images (33%). Overall, 20% of Brits have had a row with a partner or friend over whether or not a photo should be deleted permanently from social media.
The research revealed that Brits only end up using 34% of the shots they take at any one time, and, after taking a shot they like, will spend four minutes and 30 seconds on average to edit, crop and add a filter to the image before posting it on social media. More than half (58%) immediately upload photos they like to social media, while only 39% still go to the trouble of printing them out and putting them in a picture frame. However, the research showed the “selfie” is losing popularity among modern Brits, with only 22% saying selfies were the shots they take the most.
