Whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience in the aesthetics industry, this year’s event will help take your business to the next level and provide insights into how you can build a successful career in aesthetics.
Renowned speakers from the field including Lorna Bowes, Aesthetic Source; William Brandham, Pabau; Uliana Gout, IMCAS; Adam Hampson, Cosmetic Digital and many more will be present at the event, which takes place on 10th September at The Tower Hotel in London.
Our speaker this year is ‘The Apprentice’ star Dr Leah Totton. Northern Ireland born Leah graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2011 with an overall distinction in medicine before embarking on an NHS career as well as medical aesthetics training undertaken in Harley Street, London.
Leah’s business plan for a cosmetic skin clinic won her the 2013 series of BBC One’s The Apprentice and the prize of a £250,000 investment from businessman Lord Sugar.
Leah launched her first clinic, Dr Leah Clinics, in 2014 in the heart of the City of London, offering a range of cosmetic skincare treatments ranging from Botox to laser treatments for the body and skin. The business has thrived, with the flagship clinic being crowned “Best London Clinic” for two consecutive years in national cosmetic awards. Together with Lord Sugar, Leah went on to open a second Dr Leah clinic in Essex in 2016 and a third Dr Leah Clinic will open in London in December. The brand has also formulated a Dr Leah skincare line, set to launch in early 2019.
Dr Leah Clinics was awarded Best Aesthetic Practice in London at the MyFaceMyBody Awards for the second year in a row earlier this year.
On being awarded her latest accolade, Leah stated “My aim when I won The Apprentice and formed the Dr Leah Clinics business with Lord Sugar was that our clinics would lead the aesthetics industry and would set a new standard of excellence. The vision was to create safe, ethical and truly excellent doctor-led clinics for clients to undertake cosmetic procedures should they desire to do so.”
Alongside her work at Dr Leah clinics, she has continued to work as an NHS doctor and is completing an MSc in Dermatology. Leah is a spokesperson for the U.K. cosmetic sector and makes regular media appearances calling for industry regulation and standards to be improved. She is also passionate about women’s causes and is the patron of several woman’s charities including Woman’s Aid.
