UKSSAM launches online journal
The UK Society for the Study of Aesthetic Medicine (UKSSAM) has launched an online journal.
Established by Mr Ravi Jandhyala, MsC (London) MRCS (Glasg) MFPM, President of the Society, The Journal of Aesthetic Medicine (JAM) is intended to unify the discipline and provide an authoritative focus in this busy and constantly evolving specialisation.
The facility will provide an open, accessible, online collection of research, articles and reliable studies, published to help to bring to aesthetics a similar focus to that enjoyed by the numerous other branches of medicine.
Ravi Jandhyala said: “Up to now aesthetic medicine has had to piggy-back on to other specialities such as dermatology and plastic surgery to get access to new studies and helpful information and to give this speciality more widespread attention.
“With this online resource we aim to provide a space in which we can unify practitioners and offer them a journal of their own.
“It will provide information, reports and studies that are science-based and academic in a similar way to The Lancet and BMJ and the journals specific to specialities such as dermatology or plastic surgery.”
