Weak pound could give UK cosmetic surgery sector a lift
Britain’s cosmetic surgery industry could see a boom as a result of the UK’s Brexit vote, according to reports.
The current exchange rate means that the cost of UK surgery has become more affordable, with one leading clinic claiming enquiries from overseas clients were up a third since June’s referendum.
Amir Nakhdjevani, lead cosmetic surgeon at the Bella Vou clinic in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, said, “Thanks to the low pound, we’ve seen a 32% increase in enquiries over the past few months from male and female clients who live abroad. “The UK has one of the most highly developed cosmetic surgery industries in the world and British surgeons are always in demand with foreign customers, due to the high standards of training and exceptional quality of surgery and care available. “The cosmetic surgery industry is reaping the benefits of favourable exchange rates, which have made our services more affordable to foreign clients.”
