Wigmore Medical announced as distributor for Viveve sexual wellness treatment for vaginal laxity
Wigmore Medical has been announced as the exclusive distributor for new to market sexual wellness treatment, Viveve. Launched at FACE Conference 2016, Viveve provides a pioneering approach to tightening vaginal tissue post child birth - a concern that often goes unspoken affecting women’s confidence, sexual satisfaction and relationships. In a survey of over four hundred women who had vaginal deliveries nearly half reported some level of concern with vaginal laxity. During vaginal childbirth tissues can overstretch, damaging collagen and creating a feeling of looseness.
For many years this common concern has gone unspoken through embarrassment but also women not knowing how to articulate their experience, perhaps for fear of dismissal. The launch of Viveve provides a non-surgical and painless medical treatment. Viveve works at the cellular level using patented radiofrequency which works by cooling and gently heating the vaginal tissue to stimulate the formation of new collagen fibres restoring the area and reducing laxity. Only one 30 minute treatment is needed and the collagen restoration process takes place over time, usually between 30-90 days after the treatment. This treatment is so quick and easy normal activities can be resumed following the procedure. In two Viveve clinical studies, 88% of the women showed improved and sustained vaginal tightness at 12 months after treatment, improvement in sexual satisfaction was also maintained throughout the 12 months.
