Women in their 50s feel more body conscious than other age group, says report

Women over 50 feel the least confident about their bodies compared to other age groups, according to a new report conducted by fashion retailer JD Williams, in association with YouGov.

The report found that 55% of British women aged 50 or older are not confident about the way they look. Additionally, only four out of 10 said they felt confident in their body and appearance.

Areas that they felt most negative about, included the stomach (62%), upper arms (33%), and thighs (26%). 25% said they would consider cosmetic surgery. 

However, consideration of cosmetic surgery appears to decrease as women get older, with only 21% of women in their 60s saying they would consider it, and just 12% of women in their 70s saying the same.
