Bogus doctor convicted over fake ‘Botox’ injections

Doctor in handcuffs A man who claimed to be a doctor has been convicted of two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) after administering a substance he claimed to be botulinum toxin to two women. The women suffered swelling and burning after being treated by Ozan Melin, 42, from Uxbridge, West London. The jury at Bournemouth Crown Court heard the victims were injected with an “unknown and extremely dangerous substance”. Melin visited customers in private homes or beauty salons and told them he was a cosmetic surgeon who had trained in the US, however, prosecutor Simon Jones told the jury: “He was not a doctor and was not qualified.” Melin was remanded on bail to be sentenced on June 8.
