AlumierMD shares in-clinic trial results for new at-home exfoliating mask

The award-winning skincare company AlumierMD has unveiled the results of a new in-clinic study, assessing the effectiveness of its Refining Clay Mask.

The recent study was conducted with 18 patients, Fitzpatrick types I –VI, ranging in age from 28 to 66. The patients completed a medical history, photo release forms, and a short, subjective patient satisfaction questionnaire rating the physical attributes of their skin.

Each patient’s skin was then cleansed using AlumierMD’s Purifying Gel Cleanser and they were placed into a VISIA imaging device for physiological assessment of surface and subsurface skin conditions using IntelliFlash, cross-polarized and UV lighting.

The impressive results indicated a 78% improvement in spots, a 41% improvement in texture, and a 16% improvement in redness after one application.

Following the results, the Refining Clay Mask is now available for patients to buy for at-home use – through the company’s award-winning Business Platform that supports aesthetic professionals in selling AlumierMD products.

The formula contains a blend of clays, including bentonite and kaolin, and exfoliating ingredients, such as papain and lactic acid, which work to remove dead skin cells and promote skin renewal while clearing trapped sebum. The result is a reduction in the appearance of blemishes and excess oil, as well as soothing and maintaining hydration.

The research also helps substantiate the mask’s efficacy for use before in-clinic procedures, as the product was shown to contribute towards stabilising the patients’ skin pre-treatment, allowing them to receive more intense sessions for longer-lasting results at a higher intensity. Thus, the product helps fulfil AlumierMD’s promise to support professionals in-clinic, while also providing effective, and on-trend, at-home peeling treatments.

“The powerful exfoliation properties make Refining Clay Mask the perfect mask to both prep for in-clinic peels and maintain results after treatment”, says expert dermatologist Dr Sonia Khorana.

“Formulated for blemish-prone skin, Refining Clay Mask has soothing properties and a reduction in redness supports its ability to cool and calm the skin in one application. The clinical results were seen after just one use, and therefore the possibility for enhanced, balanced skin with further treatment is an exciting one.”

During the study, clinicians also applied one pump of AlumierMD’s AHA Renewal Serum to the patients’ foreheads and asked them to score how easily they felt it absorbed. After one use, 100% agreed that their sebum absorbability had improved, 94% of patients agreed that their skin looked brighter, and 88% agreed that their skin looked more clear and smoother.

AlumierMD’s Refining Clay Mask is available now, and costs £87.50. For more information, visit alumiermd.co.uk
