Covid-19: Medik8 produces hand sanitiser and Lumenis offers machine to be won

Clinical skincare brand Medik8 has switched production to produce hand sanitiser at its in-house laboratory.

4,000 pocket-sized bottles of Hygienic Hand Rub will be distributed throughout the Hertfordshire community where the brand’s headquarters are based, going for free to care homes, the homeless, vulnerable people and police staff. The first delivery went to the local Hertfordshire Constabulary.

An additional 1,000 bottles will be added free of charge to each customer order from the Medik8 site from 1 April.

Hygienic Hand Rub is 80% ethanol based, in a non-drying and non-sticky formula; made to an official open-source WHO formulation.

Daniel Isaacs, director of research for Medik8, said: “We are lucky to be able to work in an environment that we can utilise our skills amidst this pandemic, and in doing so, can enable local communities to protect themselves as best they can. We cannot make ventilators, but we can make sanitiser.”

To enter, those interested should follow Lumenis on Instagram, tag friends interested in cellulite and skin laxity treatments, and comment as to why they think they should win.

The competition will run until 5pm on 23 April and the winner will be contacted via Instagram on direct message.
