Flint + Flint to launch franchise model following first aesthetic clinic opening

Following the launch of its first concession clinic in Harvey Nichols Manchester in September, British skincare brand Flint + Flint has revealed plans to expand nationwide with a franchise model due to launch early next year.

Husband-and-wife team Adam and Maxine Flint opened the Flint + Flint concession clinic with a focus on beauty and treatments, and edgy interior design.

It offers treatments from hands-on facials, massages and micro-peels to cryo fat freezing, laser skin rejuvenation and doctor-administered injectables. The Flints also run the Skin Health Spa group, which has five standalone clinics across the UK.

Speaking about the new Flint + Flint brand concept, managing director Adam Flint said, “Most salons and spas are a variation of the same thing so we had the idea to open clinics that are the ‘anti-spa’; dark and moody – a little bit agent provocateur meets beauty.”

Flint said the franchise model will have a heavy focus on equipping the franchisee with the business skills needed to run a successful and profitable clinic. “There are a lot of people who are very good at skin and treatments but the difficulties are on the business side,” he added. “We’ve developed our own online training programme for franchisees and have a backend admin system that takes care of reviews, follow up emails, appointments and diary management.”

Currently there are no firm plans for the first franchise but the company is in talks with an independent operator looking to open standalone franchise clinics in Cork and Dublin.

Flint said the model would work well in fashionable city-centre locations, such as Birmingham and Hoxton, London, but that all areas would be considered.
