New research by Clearsight Energy has highlighted the business sectors that could benefit most from switching water suppliers since the deregulation of England’s water market in 2017.

With private hospitals, farms and restaurants among those set to save the most, many businesses have yet to capitalise on this opportunity. Additionally, the study sheds light on potential savings for sectors ranging from beauty salons to cinemas, illustrating the widespread opportunities for cost reduction.

“This study highlights a significant opportunity for businesses across England to reassess their water supply choices,” stated a spokesperson from Clearsight Energy. “Schools are still responsible for budgeting, and even though savings can change depending on where a school is based in the country, these potential savings could still provide equipment or educational trips.”

As England's water market continues to evolve post-deregulation, businesses are urged to revaluate their supplier choices. The study's insights underscore the impact of switching water suppliers, offering opportunities to significant financial savings across diverse sectors. By capitalising on competition in the market, businesses can move towards greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness in their operations.
