RealSelf unveils most-loved aesthetic procedures

Aesthetic review site RealSelf has announced its 2022 “Most Worth It” honourees list, revealing what the most-loved procedures are, according to consumers.

To be recognised, a treatment needed to meet the minimum requirement of 50 reviews between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, and have earned a cumulative “Worth It” rating of 90% or higher during the same time period.

The RealSelf “Worth It” rating is a proprietary consumer satisfaction score based on reviews from users of the site who, after undergoing a treatment, rated it as being “worth it” or “not worth it.”

Non-surgical options for smooth, radiant skin consistently ranked high among members, with injectable neuromodulators still the most popular procedure in this category. Dermal fillers also ranked highly, with an overall score of 93%.

Deep plane face-lifts, designed to treat drooping cheeks, along with the lower face, jawline, and neck, were clear favourites, earning a 100% Worth It rating. Forehead reduction surgery, which is designed to create a more balanced facial proportion, also scored 100%.

For the body, body lifts and mini tummy-tucks were rated highly among patients, each scoring 98% and breast surgeries continue to be popular, with more than 5,000 Worth It reviews of breast-related procedures posted in 2021. Satisfaction with breast surgeries continued to be very high, with a 97% rating.

But it wasn’t just about enlargement; breast implant removal took home a “Most Worth It” ranking of 97%. Breast implant removal was an overarching celebrity plastic surgery trend of 2021— common reasons breast implants are removed include a desire to address health concerns, implant failure, or complications. However, some women are just ready for smaller breasts.

In other news, “Acidic skincare” and “microdose regimes” are billed as top 2022 skin trends.
