Covid-19: Dija Ayodele launches skin treatment initiative for front-line workers
Dija Ayodele, Aesthetic Medicine editorial board member and founder of Black Skin Directory and West Room Aesthetics, has launched an initiative to thank and reward front-line NHS staff.
The Nightingale Treatment is inspired by widely-shared images of NHS workers showing the skin damage caused to their faces by continued use of PPE.
Once social-distancing rules are lifted, Ayodele wants to gift skin treatments to NHS staff members to help soothe and rejuvenate their skin.
Other clinics are encouraged to get involved and can decide on the number of treatments they wish to gift, the duration of the treatments and the timeframe in which they can be redeemed.
Each front-line NHS worker will be entitled to one treatment on production of official NHS ID.
Details of the clinics taking part will be displayed on the Nightingale Treatment website for NHS staff to book an appointment. When all slots at a clinic are taken, the website will be updated.
Clinics will be provided with a digital poster to send to their local hospital HR department advertising the initiative, and can also spread the word on social media and via traditional advertising through a dedicated PR agency.
Ayodele commented: “"Like most people, I have been impressed by the bravery and courage of front-line NHS staff. As a skin-health specialist I have also been both saddened and inspired by their bruised and marked faces caused by the tight masks they have to wear as part of the personal protection equipment.
It's important to give back to this army of people who have selflessly looked after the nation and the best way I know how to do this is to use my skills to bring together colleagues and brands in the beauty industry to create this initiative - The Nightingale Experience."
