New research reveals which job titles get the most botulinum toxin

New research from The Harley Street Clinic has revealed which job titles are most likely to get botulinum toxin in their clinic.

With an estimated 900,000 botulinum toxin/ anti-wrinkle injections taking place each year, they are one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments available.

“Botox has become increasingly popular over the past few years, becoming more normalised, accepted, and accessible within the beauty industry,” the Harley Street Clinic medical director, Mike Tee. “The non-surgical treatment industry is now worth over £3 billion a year in the UK. Due to its many MHRA-approved alternative uses, Botox is no longer just a cosmetic change, but something that could improve your health and quality of life.”

Which jobs are most likely to get botulinum toxin?

Harley Street Clinic’s research, based on internal booking data, revealed that patients from the business and management sector made the most botulinum toxin bookings.

Botulinum toxin can reduce the appearance of stress and fatigue, and can be a natural side effect of high pressure careers.

Botulinum toxin also helps maintain a youthful appearance, which is crucial for industries where appearance matters.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that the second most likely occupation is arts, media, and entertainment.

In third place are healthcare and social service professionals, another occupation that benefits from minimising visible signs of fatigue.

What demographics are getting botulinum toxin?

The research also displayed that 80% of botulinum toxin bookings were made by women.

Despite the rise in young people getting botulinum toxin, bookings from millennials ages 35 to 39 were the most common.

Outside of London, the botulinum toxin capital, the North West ranks as the area of the UK with the most venues offering the treatment.

Alternative uses for botulinum toxin.

Aside from reducing signs of ageing and fatigue, botulinum toxin is also popular for alternative uses.

The most popular searches from 2021-2025 pertaining to botulinum toxin consisted of jaw slimming, scrotal, ‘Barbie Botox’, and excessive sweating.

Commonly referred to as ‘Masseter Botox’, the injection causes the muscle to paralyse and reduce in size, giving your jawline a slimmer appearance.
