Social Success for 2023

Social Media! Yes, it’s time we took a deep dive into the world of Socials, what it means to you and how to master this often-elusive tool for your clinical success in 2023.
As part of the Business Masterclass series each month we are taking a focused dive into specific key areas of your clinical business success and this month it is social media!!
Unless you have just recently emerged from a cave then you will be well aware of social media and the different channels available to you from YouTube, and Instagram to linked in and Facebook. You will also probably be aware of the importance of being on social media for your clinic and your business. Unfortunately, that is often where it stops!
The most common block to social media success is fear, that’s either fear of using them, I don’t want to make a mistake, damage my brand etc or fear of what people may think of you! Does my hair look ok in this video, does my voice sound funny, what happens if someone doesn’t like my content I am scared if the haters of the world says something negative!
The reality is that our growth exists outside our comfort zone, we need to break through this, push the boundaries and success follow.
The very first step is to stop being a consumer and become a creator! Stop scrolling through other people's posts and content and start producing your own! You have a gift and set of experiences unique to you that is very much because you are you! Let me explain this a little further. Firstly, the physical skills and knowledge you have currently are the world's best-kept secret! Unless you are telling and sharing these then people cannot benefit from this, and you are not serving your clients and in turn potential patients. The second point is that you are you!! People will judge, and people will resonate with different people and that’s ok! That’s fantastic! You want to attract the correct client and patient to your clinic and not waste valuable clinical hours on the wrong one! It’s a little like being at school some teachers loved the way they expressed and taught, others not so much! The characteristic of who you are and how you share the information and ultimately connect with people is unique to you it does not make you any worse than anyone else so start creating and sharing!
Now we are in a creative space we need to be consistent so do not over-commit to a level of content that we cannot sustain; the various algorithms have one thing in common which is the consistent production of content. So, it is better to commit to something less laborious to start with and add to this once you have become more proficient and ultimately able to produce content quickly and systemised. Building and growing are far better than running two to three weeks flat out finding you cannot keep up and then simply stopping!
Some key questions to ask yourself
1) What is my goal for the coming 12 months? (Your personal and professional goals)
2) How will social media help me achieve this goal? (I don’t mean just get more patient enquiries but how many, how will it grow my brand, grow my market share)
3) What is your goal for your social media in the coming 12 months and quarters? (Reach into more platforms, dominate the ones you are on)
4) What call to action do you currently use on social media? (Are they working? Are you tracking them?)
5) What’s the biggest difference between where you are now and where you want to be in 12 months with your social media?
