Editorial assistant Michelle Duffield visits Dr Vincent Wong to try a bespoke Sylfirm X microneedling treatment.

The Lowdown

Microneedling has become a popular non-invasive treatment for rejuvenating the skin, targeting issues like pore size, uneven texture, fine lines, minor scarring, and crepe skin. By using tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries, this procedure stimulates the skin’s natural healing processes, boosting collagen production and renewing the skin’s surface. With its ability to offer improvements in texture, firmness, and overall glow, making it a good go-to for anyone looking for smoother, more refined skin.

The Experience

I recently had the pleasure of having my very first microneedling session with Dr Vincent Wong, a practitioner known for his gentle approach, precise technique and incredible sense of style. Since I had an event scheduled for the next day, Dr Wong opted for a depth of 0.5mm, targeting surface-level concerns while keeping redness and downtime minimal. This customised approach was ideal as I was reassured that any redness would subside by the evening, which, despite my scepticism, it did! This makes it a perfect low-downtime option for those with a busy schedule, looking for results.

The treatment itself was quick yet effective, as Dr Wong focused on my primary skin concerns; refining pore size, enhancing skin texture, and addressing minor scarring. Following the session, I did experience a mini breakout, which is common as the skin undergoes renewal. However, within a few days, I was super happy with the results, my skin felt incredibly smooth, and I could see a visible improvement in texture and radiance.

The Verdict

Overall, the microneedling treatment with Dr Wong exceeded my expectations. The combination of low downtime and tailored technique allowed for a fresh, rejuvenated look with minimal disruption to my schedule. Dr Wong’s expertise and careful approach made for a fantastic experience, and I’m thrilled with the results that followed in the days after the treatment.
