The partnership between the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) and the British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG) aims to enhance professional developments and educational opportunities for nurses.
The BACN and the BDNG have announced a collaboration aimed at enhancing professional development and educational opportunities for nurses in the fields of dermatology and aesthetics.
BACN education and training committee chair, Rachel Goddard, shared her enthusiasm for the new partnership, saying “I am pleased to announce our collaboration with the British Dermatological Nursing Group. We have spent the past few months working together on a number of exciting initiatives. I’m pleased to announce the input of BDNG in reviewing modalities within our BACN career and competency framework. This will include the accredited BDNG dermatology nurse competency framework within the appendices, enabling BACN Nurse members to utilise it for professional development.”
BACN chair Sharon Bennett, BACN education and training committee chair Rachel Goddard, and BACN education and training committee vice-chair Anna Baker have also jointly written a feature in the BDNG Journal detailing the heritage of BACN, the many important objectives and projects of the Education Committee, as well as exciting developments with the BACN career and competency framework.
“The BDNG is excited about this partnership with BACN to connect and develop learning opportunities for dermatology and aesthetic healthcare professionals,” added Susan Maguire, chief executive officer for BDNG.
Upcoming conferences and educational opportunities
Both BACN and BDNG have events lined up for later in 2024, their purpose to improve standards and ensure the highest level of care is provided by the groups’ memberships.
BACN autumn aesthetic conference
The largest event dedicated to medical aesthetic nurses in the UK, ran by nurses, for nurses.
