Study reveals that interest in male toxin is on the rise

Updated on 14th Aug 2025

A recent study has revealed that 23% of men between the ages of 18 and 34 have had either botulinum toxin, filler, or dental work done.

Data from The Harley Street Clinic’s internal booking records found that, despite men making just 351 bookings since 2019, around one in six (16.4%) of all botulinum toxin bookings were made by men. Botulinum toxin is becoming more normalised among men, with the term ‘brotox’ being used to describe this trend.

This was underscored by Google Trends data, which shows that searches for ‘male Botox’ have risen 76% in the past month, suggesting that interest in this procedure is on the rise.

Male botulinum toxin is often used to preserve a more natural, masculine appearance by targeting specific areas such as the forehead or between the brows without over-smoothing the face, says The Harley Street Clinic.

As men generally have thicker skin and stronger facial muscles, botulinum toxin dosages and techniques must be adjusted for optimal results.

The report found that women made up 80% of botulinum toxin bookings, with most having the injections because of concerns about their wrinkles, fine lines, and frown lines.

The data suggested that millennial patients are the most likely to get botulinum toxin injections.

Top three age ranges with the most botulinum toxin bookings:

  • 35–39 years old

  • 40–44 years old

  • 45–49 years old
